Tools for an In-Progress Life

Passion Planner

I just can't imagine my life without this planner. Really, I just can't. I started using a Passion Planner several years ago when I was busy balancing work life, family life, and all the things. At the time, I was relying on a digital calendar and a friend suggested this (thanks, Betsy). I have never looked back. I love this calendar more now that I am retired; if that's even possible.

Journals

Lemome Journal: This was given to me as a gift when I retired. There's so much to love about this journal: smooth pages, lines, perforations (yep, tear out those errors or pages you don't want to stay), pen holder, and journal elastic ribbon that keeps it closed. (The writing on the front was added to the journal by friends.)

Peter Pauper Press Journal: Maybe I should never pick out my own journal again because this other favorite comes from friends. The pages on this were so nice to write on; my pen would just glide. The one I received was lined. I thought the book might be hard to get open enough to write, but it laid flat with ease. The ribbon kept my page marked and waiting.

Leuchtturm 1917 Journal: I have a soft-cover, dotted journal (I believe it is a B5). Yeah, I'm truly over the moon about it. I use this one for making lists, brainstorming, sketching, and big thinking. Similar to a Moleskin notebook, I have found it to be the perfect notebook companion. They come in so many sizes and colors. It appears you can also personalize them. Who knew?

Pens

Detail Doodlers

Detail Doodlers
: Oh my goodness, I love these! First of all, there isn't much in life that is reasonable, but these are. They're the perfect felt tip for drawing, thin enough to be precise and bright enough to pop. They don't bleed through pages which makes them perfect for your journal, notebook, or calendar. I'm still testing their longevity; I think they have promise. I'll let you know

Pentel Pens

Pentel® EnerGel RTX Pens, 0.7 mm, Medium Point: For journal writing, these are the best. They're smooth, colorful, and last quite some time. They just flow - and I'm pretty sure they think for me too. Ha!

Schneider Pens

Schneider Slider Basic XB (Extra Broad) Ballpoint Pen: Smooooooth! These always feel a bit more artsy when I use them. I love the way they write. My only challenge with them is taking off the cap. Somehow that extra step seems a lot some days. Oh my!

FriXion Pens

PILOT FriXion Clicker Erasable, Refillable & Retractable Gel Ink Pens: If you're looking for an erasable pen these are the best I have found. They're perfect for your calendar or planner. However, I don't think they last very well. Additionally, they've become quite expensive (especially since they don't last long), but if you need erasable these are an option to consider.
